Italian Advanced C1.5

At this level, students will be able to understand with ease everything they heard or read. Students will be able to summarise information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing topics and accounts in a coherent presentation. Express themselves spontaneously, fluently and precisely. In addition to language learning, students will extend their cultural and social knowledge about Italy and Italians. This course aims to build general advanced comprehension and communication skills in Italian and a review of cultural practices, with a focus on clear explanation of higher-level language principles.

Outcomes

• Understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognise implicit meaning
• Express yourself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions
• Use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes
• Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organisational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices
